Anyone wonder why there is no such thing as “mother in law day”????

Hurry up and wait
Posted by Jonathan on May 22, 2007
This week I am waiting on the Army to put out the results of my Chaplain Candidate packet. I put the packet in last week and the board will be releasing the results by Thursday. I do not anticipate getting turned down for the Chaplaincy, but the Army can be unpredicatabe about what kind of things it chooses to be picky about.
So, while I’m studying (to officially finish my Masters in Biblical Counseling) I found some interesting news . . .
Over in China there is a 100 year old man whose diet violates everything from the health gurus. He drinks plenty of liquor, smokes daily and eats very unhealthy -I am considering writing a book based on this guy: How to smoke and drink yourself to 100
My wife and I recently left Bank of America – we left because this story sums up their customer service policy. It’s about a woman who lost around $68,000 because of identity theft, and then her bank was kind enough to go after her for the money. Great service Bank of America, keep it up. We endured this kind of customer service for a while and then left a while ago. Bank of America has the mentality that your money becomes theirs once you hand it to them, it’s not acutally your money in the account it is theirs.

Good News from the Tolerance front
Posted by Jonathan on May 16, 2007
Muslims in Pakistan have sent a message to the Christians – Convert or Die! Of course, that is meant a very metaphorical, symbolic and tolerant sort of way . . . right.

The Death of Jerry Falwell
Posted by Jonathan on May 16, 2007
Jerry Falwell died yesterday, and despite how much I disagreed with him, and my sarcasm in an earlier post about some comments he made, the man is not deserving of the vitriolic hatred spewed out by the “Party of Tolerance”.
Falwell had his problems and his missteps, I disagree strongly with his mixing of the church and politics (partially because I was in that crowd for a while). Dr. Falwell was wrong that God is a Republican – but neither would God endorse the hatred and venom of the “Party of Tolerant” (click here and read the comments, if you can stomach it).
In spite of my disagreements with him I believe that Dr. Falwell is in heaven today with his Savior, Jesus Christ. Dr. Falwell was wrong about some of his tactics and some points of doctrine, but he was not a heretic or an apostate (if you want to see an apostate just turn on TBN). Falwell was a man of God who served Christ and His Church, for a good review of Falwell’s death go here, and here.
My condolences to the Family of Dr. Falwell, Liberty University, his church, and all of his friends.

Fred Thompson responds to Micheal Moore
Posted by Jonathan on May 15, 2007
This morning Drudge reported that Micheal Moore was challenging Fred Thompson to a debate – Fred Thompson has responded and the response is fantastic!
Moore would certainly lose the debate, Moore is challenging someone who has far more brains and wit than he can ever hope to have.
And while I’m at it, it’s worth noting that congress has a lower approval rating than Bush. Perhaps we should impeach congress?

Wisdom from the Pope
Posted by Jonathan on May 11, 2007
The Pope has spoken, and he has told youth that they should avoid evil . . .thank you pope, perhaps youth in general should start by avoiding the Catholic church? That would avoid quite a bit of evil right off the bat.

Joel Osteen – with some helpful commentary
Posted by Jonathan on May 7, 2007
Joel Osteen – feel good preacher extraordinaire . . .some people find it hard to understand why he is such a danger. With some commentary, it’s pretty clear – click here for the details.

This week
Posted by Jonathan on May 5, 2007
Every time I sat down this week to blog something else came up . . . my computer died, my Seminary registration was goofed up (and still is), my other computer nearly blew up, I went to work, finances got tighter, and my in laws started misbehaving again.
Then I heard about these believers over in Turkey who were brutally murdered for their faith (by the religion of peace). We really do have a lot to be thankful for when a bad week is just like the one my wife and I have had.
Note to Self: Remember to pray for the persecuted church daily.
